The History of Women of Color Being Pushed Out of the Midwife and Doula Space

Community doulas in Washington state play a vital role beyond childbirth, supporting parents through early childhood development. By providing culturally relevant care, bridging healthcare gaps, and connecting families to resources, they help create a strong foundation for early learning. Expanding access to community doulas can enhance child development and strengthen communities.
