Abas is the Manager of Digital Equity at the Equity in Education Center, leading efforts to bridge the digital divide in the Pacific Northwest. Originally from Ethiopia, he is a technology enthusiast and coffee lover who now calls Seattle, Washington, home.
With a robust IT management and development background, Abas has spearheaded projects that have enhanced community access to digital resources, impacting over 50,000 community members. His work includes leading the development and successful launch of the ConnectWA App, a platform designed to improve technology accessibility for Washington’s veterans and marginalized community members.
Abas expertly blends technical acumen with strategic leadership, managing agile teams and comprehensive product strategies to meet growing community needs. His prior roles have fortified his expertise in project management, system integrations, and creating solutions that bridge the gap between technology and user needs, making him a pivotal asset in driving forward the missions of technology-oriented equity programs.
