Research & Policy Associate
She/her
Subhechha works as a Research and Policy Associate at the Equity in Education Center. She finds immense joy working at the intersection of education and research. She is fascinated by the idea of collecting data through various modes and methods, analyzing them, and gathering insights to derive solutions to pressing problems in our education system.
Her passion to make learning inclusive and find answers on how to make education equitable, led her to pursue her master’s in education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Here she not only honed her research skills by undertaking multiple research projects but also learnt that to address the challenges in education, data represented through numbers and facts is not enough; it must include the voices of the people who are impacted by the system, and only then can we move the needle and bring about real change. She believes that engaging and collaborating with members of the community, including educators, parents, students, and advocates in the research process, make them feel they belong and enable the creation of sustainable and targeted interventions.
Subhechha loves asking questions and finding ways in which learning can made more joyful for children. She has also started her own bilingual storytelling podcast to help children informally learn dual languages. In her free time, Subhechha enjoys spending time with family and loved ones, teaching the Indian classical dance form Kathak, cooking, and reading historical fiction.
